Karen Eck of Eckfactor - Global Media Relations is one of
Australia's leading science publicists. Based in Sydney she works with Discovery
Channel, National Geographic and many others. Karen assisted Niall as publicist
for the International Genetics Congress - organising interviews on Denton's
Enough Rope, The Panel, The Today Show and many other TV and radio programs.
Karen and Niall also worked on the Eureka Prizes in 2002 and 2003, and on
Baroness Greenfield's tour of Australia for the Australian Science Olympiads.

Jenni Metcalfe
is the principal of
Econnect Communication. Jenni served as Chief of Staff for
the International Genetics Congress and Microbiology Melbourne 2002. She has a background in science, education, communication
and journalism. She has broad expertise in the fields of media publicity and
liaison, communication skills training, stakeholder liaison/consultation, and
communication strategy development and implementation.

Gael Jennings is a communications consultant,
broadcaster, presenter and author, with a PhD in Immunology. Gael is a multi-award winning television science and
medical journalist, and current affairs presenter. Her media experience was
gained as a national TV science reporter with the ABC ( “ News” “7.30 Report”
“Quantum”), radio talk and current affairs host ( 774 Mid morning and Afternoon
programs) and TV current affairs presenter with SBS ( “Insight”). Gael has won
13 science, technology, health and medical journalism awards.
Gael has written two books on medicine and science (one
winning the NSW Premier’s History Prize, & shortlisted for 2001 Children’s Book
Council Awards), has held many honorary community and corporate positions, and
is currently on the Melbourne Writer's Festival Board, the Committee of
Management of the Old Treasury Building and Gold Museum, the Board of The Cancer
Council Australia, North Carlton Primary School Council, and the Museums
Victoria Board.
